ATHLETICS: Junior's off to Pan Am Champs in Colombia

Jamaica’s 17-member squad is now traveling to Medellin, Colombia for the 2013 Pan Am Junior Championships, which runs from August 23 to 25.



Racers Track Club’s Jahzeel Murphy and Calabar High's outstanding Class Two athlete Michael O'Hara headline the 17-member squad.



Murphy and Todd showed good forms at the Junior Trials in June.

Murphy won the Under-20 100 metres at the trials.



He clocked 10.25 seconds to equal his personal best and beat Jevaughn Minzie of Bog Walk in the process. Minzie was also named in the squad.



Todd won the Under-18 100 metres in a personal best of 10.39 seconds, beating his previous best of 10.49.



The squad comprises 11 male and six females.



Herbert Thomas, Antonio Henry, Demar Gayle, Oshane Burrell, Jevaughn Shaw, Lennox Williams, Odane Bernard and Christoff Bryan complete the male squad.



The female squad comprises – Tamara Moncrieffe, Shanice McPherson, Asaine Hall, Shanice Canningan, Janelle Kelly and Stacy-Ann Rowe.



A management team of six including head coach Leacroft Bolt is accompanying the athletes.
