Police recover four illegal guns in St Catherine

The police say they have recovered four illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition from a section of Waterford, Portmore, St Catherine.



They say the seizures were made during an operation this morning by investigators from the St Catherine South Operational Support Team, the St Catherine South Divisional Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Caribbean Search Centre.



The police say about 5 o’clock this morning, the team was in an area known as Boston when two men were seen walking in the vicinity of a farm.



They say on approach of the police, the men ran leaving behind a bag.



The police say the bag was searched and two submachine guns and a 9 millimeter pistol were found.



They say the area where the men were seen was also searched and another 9 millimeter pistol and a magazine containing seven 9 millimeter rounds were found in a shed.
