CRICKET: Jamaica, Barbados Tridents face off in second CPL semi-final today

Chris Gayle’s Jamaica Tallawahs and Kieron Pollard’s Barbados Trident will face off in the second semi-final of the inaugural Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 today at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad today.



Jamaica Tallawahs earned the right to face Barbados Tridents after finishing the preliminary round of the competition in second place.



Barbados Tridents finished in third place after winning their first four games.



The Tallawahs will enter the contest with the advantage in their favour having beaten Barbados Tridents by six wickets in the preliminary round.



For today’s clash, former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara has been drafted into the line up of Jamaica Tallawahs.



The elegant 36-year-old left-handed batsman replaces Pakistan top-order player Ahmed Shezhad, who has joined the Pakistan squad on tour in Zimbabwe.
