Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has described her meetings with business leaders in China as very productive.

Simpson Miller and a delegation of political and business leaders are on a five day official visit to the People’s Republic of China to promote investment opportunities available in Jamaica.

She made the pronouncement while holding discussions with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and Chairman of the National People’s Congress, Zhang Deijang yesterday.

The Chinese President says Jamaica became China’s top trading partner in the Caribbean last year, noting that bilateral trade between the two countries have nearly tripled since 2009.

He says this shows that there is room for further co-development of the bilateral business co-operation between Jamaica and China.
