CRICKET: Jamaican fast bowlers to play for Guyana in T20

Published:Wednesday | August 28, 2013 | 8:35 AM

The Jamaican pair of left-arm speedsters Krishmar Santokie and Sheldon Cotterrell have been acquired by one of the sponsors of the Guyana Amazon Warriors to play in the two Twenty20 matches at the National Stadium in Guyana.

Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago Red Force will contest the matches on Friday and Saturday under lights.

West Indies Skipper, St Lucian all-rounder Darren Sammy, remained an option for a third foreign player to help provided the best possible challenge for T&T for their trip next month to India for this year’s Champions League.

Santokie’s addition to Guyana’s team will no doubt give T&T’s batsmen a stern test.

Cottterrell, a 24-year-old soldier with the Jamaica Defence Force has picked up 20 wickets from 15 Twenty20 matches.
