An ongoing police operation by members of the Kingston Central Division has resulted in the seizure of five guns this morning.

The police say one man has been held in connection with the seizures.

The five weapons including an AK-47 rifle, a shotgun, two 9mm pistols and a .45 Magnum handgun were found along the intersection of Luke Lane and North Street.

Head of the Division, Superintendent Steve McGregor says recent police crackdown on gang activity in the nearby Kingston West Division has resulted in criminals migrating and joining other outlaws in his division.

McGregor says this is the largest gun find in the division since the start of the year.

He says it’s expected that more guns could be found in the area.
