NETBALL: Young Sunshine Girls dominate New World Netball Stars Top-10 list

Jamaica’s Under-21 netballers have dominated the Top-10 list of ‘New World Netball Stars’ from the just concluded World Youth Netball Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.




The young Sunshine Girls, who retained the bronze medal they won in the Cook Islands four years ago, dominated the list with four selections.



Among the Jamaicans who made the list is Shamera Sterling.



The 17-year-old goalkeeper has been described as a player with natural talent and capable of competing with the best.



The other Jamaicans are – Khadijah Williams, Vangalee Williams and Thristina Harwood.



The other members of the list are – Chelsea Lewis from Wales, Lisa-Marie Wiese from South Africa, Natalie Haythornth Waite from England, Raijieli Daveua from Fiji, Samantha Wallace from Trinidad and Tobago and Barbadian Shonica Warton.



New Zealand won the gold medal by defeating defending champions Australia 52-47 in the championship match.
