HORSE RACING: Top apprentice Shamaree Muir suspended for three racedays

Top apprentice Shamaree Muir has been suspnded by the stewards for three racedays for intimidatory riding aboard the favourite VALID IAGE in the fifth race over the straight at Caymanas Park last Saturday.



Muir has been penalised for the intimidation and interference caused to the runner-up PREMIUM RETURNS approaching the 400-metre point.



VALID IMAGE finished third.



Muir’s suspension will take effect on Saturday, September 14.



He was also fined $5,000 for failure to persevere with his mount to the winning post.



At the same hearing , Muir who rode the winning horse, PRETTY TING, in the fourth race last Saturday, was cautioned for the interference caused to the runner-up MR BUTCHER shortly after the start.



Jockey Shane Ellis, who rode JOVOUN THE MASTER in the 10th race on Saturday, July 20, was fined $6,000 for the interference caused to MOJITO JAM in the final 200 metres.
