One wanted Westmoreland gang member in custody, four others being sought

The Westmoreland police say one of five members of the Haughton Gang who were listed as Persons of Interest is now in their custody.



Junior Bennett, otherwise called ‘Bennett’ has been in custody since yesterday.



The police are continuing their search for the remaining four individuals linked to the gang.



They are Torneil ‘Malta’ Haughton, who is said to be the gang leader, Jermaine ‘Peter’ or 'Yaga' Brown, Marlon Zoo' Samuels, and Eugene ‘Nepal’ Douglas.



The police say they are wanted for crimes including murder, robbery and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.



The Police High Command is appealing to men associated with the Haughton Gang to surrender immediately.



Friends and relatives of these individuals are also being reminded that it is a crime to harbour criminals.



Anyone knowing the whereabouts of any of the men is being asked to call the Savanna-la-Mar Police at 955-2536, 311 or 811.
