Deadline today for sixth form students seeking schools to register with ministry

Published:Friday | September 6, 2013 | 10:44 AM

Today is the deadline for qualified students who have been unable to secure sixth form places to register with the Education Ministry.

Last Thursday, the ministry indicated that there is a shortage of sixth form spaces and it was moving to find places for qualified students.

The ministry said among the options being looked at is the extension of existing sixth forms into the afternoon.

It said students, who have a minimum of five CSEC subjects, including Math and English A, and with grades one or two in the subjects they intend to study at CAPE, should register with the ministry.

Students can register by telephone at 282-1352 or by email to placement@moey.gov.jm.
