Warren Weir wins Diamond League 200m title to claim US$40,000

Jamaican sprinter Warren Weir is the winner of this season’s Diamond League 200-metre title and the US$40,000 first prize.



The Olympic and World Championship silver medallist confirmed his victory by in the men’s 200-metre at the season0ending Diamond League meeting in Brussels, Belgium today.



Weir clocked 19.87 seconds for the victory ahead of his Jamaican teammate Nickel Ashmeade, who recorded a season-best 19.93 seconds.



American Walter Dix finished third in 20.12, also a season-best.



Rasheed Dwyer, the other Jamaican in the line up, clocked 20.40 for sixth place.
