BASKETBALL: Jamaica seeks semi-final spot in FIBA championships today

Jamaica’s men’s basketball team will continue its quest for a semi-final spot when the 2013 FIBA Americas Championships in Caracas, Venezuela resumes today.



The Jamaicans, who secured an upset victory over Argentina yesterday, will play Mexico in their third second round game this morning, starting at 11 a.m.



The victory against Argentina yesterday came 24 hours after the Jamaicans lost 78-69 to the Dominican Republic.



In other games today — Argentina and Uruguay face off at 1:30 p.m., the Dominican Republic play Canada at 5 p.m., while Venezuela face Puerto Rico at 7:30 p.m.



The championships will qualify the four semi-finalists to the 2014 FIBA World Championships in Spain.
