FOOTBALL: Costa Rica arrive today ahead of match against Boyz

Costa Rican national football team is scheduled to arrive in the country today for a CONCACAF World Cup qualifier against Jamaica tomorrow.

The game will be played at the National Stadium in Kingston and could end Jamaica’s dream of qualifying for the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz are placed in such situation after failing to beat Panama in Panama City on Friday.

The must-win game for Jamaica ended in a 0-0 draw on a night when Costa Rica moved atop the table on 14 points after beating visitors, the USA, 3-1.

With the draw, Jamaica moved to three points to remain bottom of the six-team standings.

That was the first point for Jamaica from four games and the match was the first for new coach German national Winfried Schafer.

There are three matches remaining in the final round CONCACAF qualifiers and Jamaica need to win all games to keep their slim hopes alive.

At the end of the qualifiers, the top three will advance automatically to the Brazil 2014 World Cup, with the fourth place team set for a home-and-a-way decider with the champions from Oceania.
