HORSE RACING: Kipling Weekend to win overnight allowance race

Published:Wednesday | September 11, 2013 | 10:01 AM

Midweek racing resumes at Caymanas Park today with a 10-race card featuring the 1100-metre overnight allowance race for three-year-olds and up.

A field of 14 has been declared to face the starter and champion trainer Wayne DaCosta has a five-pronged attack.

However, KIPLING WEEKEND – now dropped in class – looks the one to beat.

Trained by Philip Feanny, KIPLING WEEKEND notched his last win at this level on March 16 when out finishing the speedy LASHING FORCE by a head over 1200 metres.

That marked her second win of the season and although beaten in three subsequent races at the open allowance level, was not really disgraced and is expected to return to winning ways with jockey Percy Williams.

CANTARE, with champion apprentice Shamaree Muir aboard, looks best of the DaCosta horses.

Post time on the card is 1 p.m. and Power 106 will have live commentary on all the races.
