JCSC disappointed in further delays in 360 megawatt project

The Jamaica Civil Society Coalition has joined calls for the Office of Utilities Regulations (OUR) to tell the public what is behind the latest delay in the completion of a bid evaluation report in relation to the government’s 360 megawatt project.

The Coalition says it’s disappointed that yet another deadline has been missed and there has been no information on what has caused the delay.

The OUR had indicated that the final evaluation report has been delayed by unforeseen legal and other issues.

However details of those issues have not been disclosed.

The civil society group says the country needs to be updated on the matter as the 360 megawatt project is vital to Jamaica’s energy sector.
