Two St. Catherine residents have pleaded guilty to stealing agriculture produce valued at $10,000.

Loveen McCarty and Winston Rowen, who are charged with praedial larceny, are to be sentenced on October 15.

They appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The court ordered that a social enquiry report be done before sentencing.

It's alleged that the accused were caught on camera removing plantains and bananas from a field in Browns Hall district in the parish.

Checks by the police revealed that eight bunches of plantains and six bunches of bananas valued about $10,000 were stolen from the property.

McCarty and Rowen were later arrested and charged.
