FOOTBALL: Unbeaten Excelsior set to continue winning ways in Manning Cup

Zone ‘B’ leaders Excelsior will be in action today as the 2013 ISSA/LIME urban-area Manning Cup football competition continues with 12 games across four groups.



The Leebert Halliman-coached Excelsior, who are unbeaten in two games, will play away to Haile Selassie at the Cling Cling Oval.



Haile Selassie will be trying to rebound after losing 1-nil against Waterford on Saturday, a team that Excelsior defeated 2-nil in their first outing.



There are two other games in the group, Norman Manley, who are on four points, will host Waterford at the Maxfield Park Complex, while Cumberland will entertain St Jago.



The undefeated Ascot will also be in action today. Ascot, who are leading Group ‘A’ with maximum six points, will host Edith Dalton. Also in the group, Jonathan Grant and Hydel face off, while Calabar play the visiting St Andrew Technical High School team.



Over in Group ‘E’, Tivoli Gardens play Bridgeport at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex; Jose Marti meet St Andrew College and Ardenne take on Jamaica College.



The other matches are – Campion hosting Meadowbrook, St Mary’s College entertaining, while Innswood and Trench Town face off at Chedwin Park in St Catherine.



No games are scheduled in the rural-area daCosta Cup competition for today. That competition resumes tomorrow with 35 games across the 15 zones.
