Jamaica Labour Party, JLP Member of Parliament (MP) Gregory Mair has become the latest party figure to endorse Audley Shaw’s bid to challenge Andrew Holness for the leadership of the party.

The North East St. Catherine MP told delegates at a meeting in his constituency yesterday that he was confident that Shaw, would be successful in his campaign to lead the party.

He argued that Shaw would provide the strong and decisive leadership that the country now desperately needs.

According to Mair, Shaw has the ability to take tough decisions and carry through with the necessary action for implementation.

Mair also described the deputy leader as team player and a humble, experienced politician who is capable of connecting with people.

Mair’s endorsement follows last week’s declaration from West Portland MP Daryl Vaz.

Shaw, who officially announced his candidacy on Sunday, has said he will be launching his campaign on September 29.
