Traffic changes for PNP ‘One People’ dance tomorrow

The Police have advised that there will be several traffic changes to facilitate the People’s National Party’s fundraising dance on Thursday, September 19 at the Waterfront, downtown Kingston at 8:00 p.m..



The road closures will take effect at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow.



Ocean Boulevard, between Port Royal Street at the craft market and Nethersole Place in front of the Jamaica Conference Centre and all roads leading off, will be closed to vehicular traffic.



Motorists who normally travel along Port Royal Street or from Pechon Street, to get onto Ocean Boulevard, will continue west along Port Royal Street.



Motorists who normally travel along Nethersole Place, intending to use Ocean Boulevard will be diverted onto Duke Street in front of the Jamaica Conference Centre, to use Port Royal Street.



Orange Street, at the intersection of Port Royal Street will be the only street that will not be closed; this will be operated as a two-way, with entrance and exit from Port Royal Street only.



Patrons should utilize the Urban Development Corporation’s parking areas along Harbour Street, Port Royal Street and West Street. No parking will be allowed along Ocean Boulevard.

The police advises that traffic personnel will be out in their numbers to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.



Drivers are also being warned not to allow passengers to hang from the doors of motor buses, sit on top of motor vehicles, or have any part of the body whatsoever protruding from the motor vehicles.
