HORSE RACING: NYABINGHI one to beat in Kenneth Mattis O.D. Trophy event

Published:Saturday | September 21, 2013 | 10:15 AM

Horseracing continues at Caymanas Park today with a 12-race programme, featuring the overnight allowance event for the Kenneth Mattis O.D. Trophy over 2000 metres.

Trainer Peter McMaster holds a strong hand with the American horses NYABINGHI and JAH LOVE in the Kenneth Mattis O.D. Trophy.

Both have trained well in preparation for this trophy.

NYABINGHI will be ridden by back-to-form jockey Aaron Chatrie and JAH LOVE by his cousin, 4-kilo claiming apprentice, Rajiv Chatrie.

In addition to the McMaster pair, the field also includes the 2012 Two Thousand Guineas winner UNCLE DONNY, recent winners PETE'S WILD ONE and CLASSIC BEAU.

NYABINGHI, however, looks best equipped to win on the strength of her fast-finishing second to SWEET TRAIL in a fast-run 1500-metre race on August 25.

Post time on the card is noon and POWER 106 will have live commentary on all the races.
