Dr. Lawrence Nicholson replaces Milton Samuda as TVJ chairman
Dr. Lawrence Nicholson has been appointed the new chairman of Television Jamaica, TVJ.
His appointment took effect last Friday.
Nicholson replaces Milton Samuda who resigned on September 13 in the wake of controversy surrounding the erasure of taped interview with his clients sprinters Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson.
Chairman of the RJR Communications Group, J. Lester Spaulding, who made the announcement said Nicholson was also appointed a director of Radio Jamaica.
Nicholson has been a member of TVJ’s board since May 2011.
He is a lecturer and head of the Decisions Sciences and Information Systems Unit at the Mona School of Business and Management at the University of the West Indies.
Dr. Nicholson also chairs the Board of the Mona High School in St. Andrew and the Steering Committee of the Government’s Poverty Reduction Programme, funded by the European Union.
