School bus study complete - Roper

Published:Thursday | September 26, 2013 | 9:48 AM

Chairman of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC), Garnett Roper says he will be reporting to Transport Minister Dr Omar Davies in a few weeks with proposals for the implementation of a rural school-bus system.

Roper chairs a committee considering various models for such a system and he says work on the plan is well advanced.

According to Roper the results of the consultation should have been sent to Dr. Davies two weeks ago but was delayed to allow for some refinement.

Roper says some clear findings and proposals have been made on how to establish the system.

But he has refused to give details on the proposals until Dr. Davies and Education minister, Ronald Thwaites are in possession of the report.
