Omar Bennett, one of the drivers in Wednesday’s crash involving Holmwood Technical High School students, is to return to the Christiana Resident Magistrate’s Court today to answer to four counts of manslaughter.

Bennett, who the police believe is the main culprit in the crash, was charged yesterday and taken before the court.

He was remanded and ordered to return today.

Meanwhile, the other injured driver remains in hospital under police guard.

The tragic crash happened on Wednesday morning along the Chudleigh Main Road.

It’s reported that the driver of a mini bus reportedly overtook several vehicles and was trying to get back in line when the bus collided with an oncoming truck and another bus.

Three students were killed in the crash and another died after being airlifted to Kingston for medical treatment.

The dead students are grade eight students Okeen Gordon, Kimona Levy and Tamika Peart as well as grade ten student Shakeria Muschette, who was a member of the national under-16 netball team.

Meanwhile, classes are expected to resume at Holmwood today following two days of mourning.
