The Meteorological Service of Jamaica says there could be rainfall across the island straight into Wednesday.

The Met Service is also reporting that already there have been reports of flooded roadways in sections of Corporate Area.

On Sunday, the Met Service issued a severe weather alert.

It says the presence of a low pressure system over the southern Caribbean Sea has influenced a trough across Jamaica with embedded showers and thunderstorms.

Duty forecaster, Ronald Moody says the heaviest concentration of rainfall is taking place over Kingston and St Andrew and southern St Catherine.
