JLP to continue discussions on contentious delegates list today

Published:Wednesday | October 2, 2013 | 8:47 AM

JLP officials are today expected to hold another round of talks on the contentious delegates' voters' list.

Audley Shaw has raised concern about the handling of the process by the JLP secretariat.

Shaw claims the JLP General Secretary, Dr Horace Chang, is still entertaining discussions about the list in some constituencies.

According to Shaw, the delay in publishing the list is raising issues about the integrity of the process.

Shaw has said he will not sign the Code of Conduct until a final delegates list is provided.

However, Chang has reiterated that the JLP's constitution requires that candidates and caretakers be allowed to make changes to the list up to thirty days before an election.

He says based on that stipulation an official list cannot be generated before October 10.
