KINGSTON, Jamaica:

Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) General Secretary Dr Horace Chang says he will be discussing with party leader Andrew Holness on whether the report on the party’s general election loss in 2011 will be released before the annual conference next month.

The Strategic Review Report was completed earlier this year, however, following a retreat of the party’s Standing Committee, it was decided that the document would be withheld.

Speaking on Power 106 FM’s Independent Talk this morning, Chang said it was the decision of members of the Standing Committee in February for the report to be withheld.

However, he notes that Holness has indicated the report could be published before the November 10 conference.

Chang insists that if it were up to Holness alone, the report would have long been released.

Audley Shaw who will challenge Holness for the leadership of the party has called for the release of the report ahead of the internal elections.

Shaw has also claimed that despite him being a senior deputy leader, he has not seen the report.

Holness has rejected Shaw’s claims.
