Curfews on in west and central Kingston

Several curfews have been imposed in sections of west and central Kingston as the security forces take aim at the sharp increase in murders and attack on police officers recently.



The curfew began at 7 p.m. yesterday and will remain in effect until 6 p.m. tomorrow.



The police say during the hours of the curfews, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised in writing by the member of security forces who is in charge of enforcing the curfews.



CURFEW IMPOSED IN CENTRAL KINGSTON



SPANGLER’S COMMUNITY

NORTH - Along North Street from Matthews Lane to Love Lane;



EAST - Along Love Lane from North Street to North Parade;



SOUTH - Along North Parade onto Heywood Street from Love Lane to Matthews Lane;



WEST - Along Matthews Lane from Heywood Street to North Street



CURFEW IMPOSED IN WEST KINGSTON



DENHAM TOWN

NORTH - Along Dumphries Street onto Drummond Street from Milk Lane to Oxford Street;



EAST - Along Oxford Street from Drummond Street to Spanish Town Road;



SOUTH - Along Spanish Town Road from Oxford Street to Milk Lane;



WEST - Along Milk Lane from Spanish Town Road to Dumphries Street.



TRENCH TOWN

NORTH - Along Fifth Street from West Road to East Road;



EAST - Along East Road using an imaginary line across the playfield from Fifth Street to Spanish Town Road;



SOUTH - Along Spanish Town Road from East Road to West Road;



WEST - Along West Road from Spanish Town Road to Fifth Street.



TIVOLI GARDENS

NORTH - Along Spanish Town Road from Industrial Terrace to Darling Street;



EAST - Along Darling Street from Spanish Town Road to the southern boundary;



SOUTH - Along an imaginary line from Darling Street to Industrial Terrace;



WEST - Along Industrial Terrace from the southern boundary to Spanish Town Road.
