A police Corporal stationed in Clarendon narrowly escaped death last evening after he was attacked in his home and stabbed in the neck.

The Clarendon Police reports that the Corporal and his wife, who was also injured in the attack, remain hospitalised this evening in stable condition.

It is reported that the policeman was at home with his family when a man armed with a home-made firearm and a knife invaded the home through a rear window.

The policeman’s wife was reportedly stabbed several times before she managed to raise an alarm.

The Corporal reportedly rushed to his wife’s assistance, but he too was stabbed several times before the intruder made his escape.

The attack comes days after a police Constable was shot and killed execution-style in St James.
