WESTERN BUREAU:

Two persons were shot dead by gunmen outside a supermarket next door the Spring Mount police station in St James this afternoon.

Two other persons were also injured including the owner of the supermarket.

The latest killings follow a number of deaths that have plagued the western parish in the last month, as gunmen unleash terror on the area.

Last Thursday, a special constable attached to the St James division of the Island Special Constable Force (ISCF), Jermaine Bartley, was killed execution-style by unknown assailants at his Irwin Meadows home in Granville. His common-law wife was also shot during the incident.

The Gleaner will provide further update as more information becomes available.
