CRICKET: WI, New Zealand Women's T20 series kicks off today
West Indies Women and New Zealand Women will contest the first match in the Tri-National Twenty20 International Series in Barbados today.
The other team involved in the series is England and all matches will be played at Kensington Oval under lights.
Today’s match is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Jamaica time.
The West Indies Women are in good form entering the series following a 2-1 One-Day International series victory over New Zealand in Jamaica.
West Indies Women's captain Merissa Aguilleira is expecting the Caribbean team to continue its good form going into the tri-nation twenty20 series.
The West Indies Women Twenty20 squad includes teenaged Jamaican top order batter Chinelle Henry, who gets her first international call-up.
The 18-year-old Henry is one of three Jamaicans in the 13-member Twenty20 squad.
The other Jamaicans are Shanel Daley and Stafanie Taylor.
The squad also includes left-armer Stacy-Ann King, who gets a recall after a year-long hiatus.
