ATHLETICS: Jamaica's World Masters team arrive in Brazil

Jamaica's five-member squad has arrived in Porto Alegre, Brazil for the 2013 World Masters Athletics Championships.



The Championships will take place from October 16-27.



Among the athletes are Oral Anderson and Samuel Brevett who will be representing Jamaica for the first time at the World Masters.



Anderson will compete over 5,000 metres in the 50-54 age-group category.



And Brevett is down to run the 100 and 200 metres in the 45-49 age group category.



The other members of the squad are Maynard McIntosh, Lynsworth Headley and Deaneth Edwards.



At the last staging of the championships in California, USA, Jamaica came away with two gold medals courtesy of Winston Chambers and Cecille Bordato.



This year’s staging is expected to attract over 5,000 athletes from across the globe.
