Sixty-nine-year-old Eugene Rhodes, who shot and injured his estranged wife in Knowles Crescent in Mandeville last Friday, has been charged.

Rhodes is charged with shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

He is to face the Manchester Resident Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

The police say Rhodes has been warned for prosecution after he allegedly hit a man, who was walking along the roadway, as he attempted to flee the scene.

The police say 72-year-old Herbert Samuels died from his injuries a day later.

The police say investigators attached the Mandeville Traffic Department are probing that case.
