CRICKET: WI High Performance Centre win four-day Practice Match at Sabina

The West Indies High Performance Team won the four-day practice match against a Jamaica Select Team which ended inside three days at Sabina Park yesterday.




Resuming the third day on 144 for three, 120 runs behind on first innings, the Jamaica select team was bowled out for 225.



Brian Gayle, who was 64 overnight, top scored for the Jamaica Select Team with 77, while Paul Palmer Junior hit 55.



Dalton Polius was the most successful bowler for the West Indies High Performance side with four for 68.



Ransford Beaton, Quinton Boatswain and John Campbell picked up two wickets each.



And needing 106 for victory, the West Indies High Performance side reached the target with three wickets in hand although Nicholson Gordon picked up a five-wicket haul.



They ended on 106 for seven. Jamaican Andre Creary led the West Indies High Performance side home with an undefeated 27 from 45 balls.



Gordon ended with five for 41, while Christopher Lamont and Patrick Harty Junior took a wicket apiece.



Final scores in the match:- Jamaica Select Team 152 and 225; West Indies High Performance Centre 272 and 106 for seven.
