April trial date for men in Bunny Francis case

An April 28 trial date has been set for the men accused of the murder of prominent businessman Roderick 'Bunny' Francis.



They are 42-year-old Carlos Batista, 27-year-old George Gardner, 36-year-old Sheldon Watson, and Newton Welsh.



Francis was shot and killed while leaving his house in Queensway, St Andrew in June 2011.



The prosecution is alleging that his murder was a contract killing.



The three men are to remain in police custody until the trial date next year.
