Samuda ashamed of JLP-affiliate women's group

Member of Parliament for North Central St Andrew Karl Samuda has hit back at the Jamaica Labour Party-affiliate Women’s Freedom Movement (WFM), saying he is ashamed of what the organisation has become.

The WFM last week criticised Samuda over his decision to evict the Norbrook Division Councillor Susan Senior from his constituency office after she publicly declared her support for JLP leadership aspirant, Audley Shaw.

Samuda is a supporter of JLP leader Andrew Holness who is being challenged by Shaw.

In calling on the North Central St Andrew MP to apologise to Senior, the WFM said his actions were absolutely disgraceful and shows a gross lack of respect for the hardworking women in Jamaica.

But speaking to the Gleaner-Power 106 News Centre this morning, Samuda called the claims offensive.

He says in his over 40 years in public life he has helped with the development of several female members of the JLP, including Senior.
