CUBAN LIGHT BULB TRIAL: Proceedings to continue today

Published:Tuesday | October 22, 2013 | 7:49 AM

The corruption trial of former junior energy minister Kern Spencer is to resume today in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

The five-year-old case will resume after its fourth postponement in the last three weeks.

The trial was adjourned last week Monday, because Spencer's attorney Deborah Martin was involved in another case before the Supreme Court.

Spencer and his former personal assistant Colleen Wright are on trial for alleged money laundering and illicit enrichment arising from the implementation of the Cuban light bulb programme.
