Suspect in pregnant Portmore woman’s killing in custody

A suspect in the shooting death of a pregnant woman turned himself in to the Greater Portmore police yesterday at 6:30 p.m.



The suspect was wanted in relation to the shooting death of 27-year-old Sasha-Gay Coffee, legal clerk of West Cumberland, Greater Portmore, St Catherine.



The police say that about 2:40 p.m, Coffee was at home with relatives when a gunman entered and allegedly proceeded to demand valuables from occupants of the house.



When the demands were not met, the gunman opened fire hitting Coffee.



The Police were summoned and Coffee taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.



The others escaped unharmed.



He will be questioned in the presence of his attorney with the intent of preferring charges.



His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
