Prosecution of drivers/conductors without badges to resume

Published:Wednesday | October 23, 2013 | 10:08 AM

The Transport Authority is to resume prosecution of drivers and conductors of Public Passenger Vehicles who do not wear their badges as of next month.

The Transport Authority says the badges are issued by the Authority to drivers and conductors of public transportation vehicles as part of the precautionary measures to ensure the safety of commuters.

As a pre-requisite to being issued a badge, all drivers and conductors are required to have their finger prints and a police record completed.

The Transport Authority says the badges allow for quality control and confidence by commuters in drivers and conductors and the wider public transport service.
