HORSE RACING: JRC investigating race fixing at Caymanas Park
The Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) is investigating a case of race fixing at Caymanas Park.
A release from Caymanas Track Limited (CLT) the sole promoter of horseracing in Jamaica, says the case of race-fixing occurred on Heroes Day – October 21 – in the seventh race.
The release also says that due to the nature of the allegations being made, the management of the company has referred the incident to the regulatory body for an immediate and thorough investigation.
The release further says allegations have been made regarding an incident involving the howling 2-to-5 favourite MORE BULLETS TO FIRE ridden by jockey Shane Ellis.
MORE BULLETS TO FIRE dislodged Ellis shortly after the start of the straight five race and the 11-to-1 shot GREATER GLORY came with a storming run on the rail to score an upset victory.
GREATER GLORY, trained by Gary Griffiths, was ridden by claiming rider Ryan Wilson.
CTL is also undertaking its own investigation.
