Man held for counterfeit notes

The Browns Hall police in St Catherine have taken a man into custody on suspicion of possession of and uttering counterfeit currency.




The man, who is said to be from Kingston, was held about midday after he went into the community and bought several items from different business places.



One business owner reportedly discovered that the bills were counterfeit.



The police were called and the man was held and searched.



Counterfeit US dollar notes amounting to $1,200 were found in his possession.



His name is being withheld pending further investigations.
