WICB appoints former Pakistan coach as Director of Cricket

ST JOHN’S, Antigua (CMC):

Richard Pybus, has been appointed as the Director of Cricket to the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), a statement released by WICB has said.




Pybus, an Englishman based in South Africa, has been appointed on a three-year contract that starts November one.



He has worked extensively in South Africa where he served in the capacities of head coach, professional cricket manager and Consultant coach with award winning sides Titans, Border, Cape Cobras and Nashua Dolphins.



Pybus was head coach of Pakistan during the 1999 to 2003 period.



He also coached the Titans and Cobras to a total of nine titles which is a South African coaching record in first class and franchise cricket.



WICB’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Muirhead said Pybus emerged after a rigorous international recruitment process which attracted applicants from the Caribbean and abroad.



Pybus, 49, a level four qualified coach, will be based at the WICB Secretariat in Antigua.
