JLP leadership contenders race against time as campaign nears end
With just two weeks of campaigning remaining, Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader, Andrew Holness and deputy leader, Audley Shaw, are today hosting meetings across the island to drum up delegates' support for their candidacy.
The incumbent, Holness, is scheduled to commence his series of meetings with delegates in eastern Westmoreland in less than an hour. He will later engage delegates of central and western Westmoreland at the Manning's High School this evening at 7:00 o'clock.
He is also scheduled to meet with delegates in western Hanover this evening.
Meanwhile, a conference dubbed 'Youth for Audley Shaw' should now be underway at the Mona campus of The University of the West Indies. The meeting was scheduled to start at 10:30 this morning.
Later this afternoon Shaw will meet with delegates in Clarendon at the JLP's central Clarendon constituency. Supporter and Central Clarendon Member of Parliament, Mike Henry, will host the meeting.
