Man linked to policewoman’s murder arrested in St Mary

A man was last night detained by the St Mary police in connection with the October 25 murder of Special Constable Arianna Henry in Portmore, St Catherine.



According to Superintendent Dean Johnson, the commanding officer for St Mary, the man was arrested in the Fort George district of Annotto Bay.



“The St Catherine South Police Division has been contacted, and they are working in conjunction with the St Mary CIB (Criminal Investigation Branch) and the Major Investigation Task Force to complete investigations on this matter.



Johnson said other persons were detained at the same location last night and they are being interviewed.



According to the police, Henry was standing outside her home in Portmore, St Catherine, with a policeman, when a Toyota Corolla motor car drove up.



The police say four men came out of the vehicle, opened fire and shot Henry in the abdomen.



Her death brings to nine, the number of police personnel murdered since the start of the year.
