Ex-cop on murder charge to be sentenced today
Former policeman Lescene Edwards is to be sentenced today for the 2003 murder of his ex-girlfriend Aldonna Harris.
Edwards was found guilty last week by a Home Circuit Court jury.
The trial, which started on September 23, was heard by Senior Puisne Judge Gloria Smith.
Harris’ body was found with a gunshot wound to her head at her home at Pembroke Hall in September 2003.
A suicide note was found inside her room which the Crown argued was not written by the woman.
She had reportedly broken off a relationship with Edwards, who is the father of her children, and later gotten married.
Harris was killed five weeks after her wedding.
