Minister of Tourism, Dr Wykeham McNeill, says he anticipates strong visitor arrival out of Canada this winter tourist season.

McNeill points out that between January 1 and April 2013, there were 209,478 seats to Jamaica from Canada.

The Minister says it is estimated that between January 1, and April 2014, the number will increase to 231,307.

He notes that the number of available airline seats out of Canada has increased significantly.

The tourism minister and a team from his ministry recently completed a pre-winter season visit to Canada to attend meetings with tour operators and airline partners.

McNeill also participated in the official Canadian launch of the new global ‘Jamaica, Get All Right’ advertising campaign.

The event was attended by senior airline and tour operator executives, plus other travel industry leaders, travel media and hotel partners.

The tourism minister also met with members of Jamaica’s Diaspora in Canada.
