LIAT pilots on strike

Published:Tuesday | November 5, 2013 | 1:18 PM

Pilots employed with the regional airline, LIAT, are now on strike.

The protest action has severely disrupting the schedule of the Antigua-based airline.

A statement issued by the carrier says it has not been provided with the required notification of industrial action as required under its agreement with the pilots.

The airline has advised customers who wish to re-book that they will be allowed to do so without charge for a period of one week from the date of their originally scheduled travel.

It said passengers who are unable to travel as planned due to the work stoppage, will be issued a full credit for future travel at their request.

LIAT flies to more than 21 destinations on a daily basis.
