INDECOM probes killing of man off Red Hills Road

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has started an investigation into the fatal police shooting of a 20-year-old man in St Andrew this morning.

INDECOM’s public relations officer Kahmille Reid, said the man has been identified as Dwight Wilson.

He was allegedly killed during a shootout with members of Operation Resilience and the Constant Spring Police in a house on Donmair Close off Red Hills Road.

Operation Resilience is the latest police initiative to target gangs across the island.

The police say one weapon, a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol was recovered from the scene.
