Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel for JUTC buses

Published:Wednesday | November 6, 2013 | 8:37 AM

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) says it has switched from the use of regular Diesel to Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel in its buses.

The JUTC says sulphur is one of the key causes of soot in diesel engines and is the main reason for the black exhaust fumes that emanated from JUTC units.

It further states that the introduction of Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel will result in lower emissions; improvement in fuel efficiency by at least 20 per cent; and reduction of engine wear.
