The commissioner of police has asked the Inspectorate of Constabulary to launch an investigation into the conduct of police officers at the murder scene of a pregnant woman who was shot in Portmore on October 21.

This action came as a result of a letter to the editor in today’s issue of the Gleaner in which it is alleged that police officers who responded to the scene refused to take the woman to hospital in the initial stages.

Twenty-seven year-old Sasha-Gaye Coffie was said to be seven months pregnant at the time of her death.
