A disturbance was averted a short while ago, at the Jamaica Labour Party's (JLP) conference at the National Arena, as delegates from rural constituencies claim that they were being asked to wait too long to pass check points.

Scores of delegates for today's leadership election between incumbent Andrew Holness and challenger Audley Shaw, are running out of patience as the police and private security guards move to search them before entering the Arena.

Most of the affected are from parishes such as Clarendon, St Elizabeth, St. James and  Trelawny.

As the complaints  grew louder, representatives of the Electoral Office of Jamaica were forced to open the gates and scores of delegates filed in the checking area.
